X Ray-ted

11.05am. After a hearty breakfast with Paul, Roy and Kirsten, we went back to the Shorts lab. After some buggering around trying to decide which experiment to do (Sarah, the short posh horsey tutor got cross with us over our indecision), Roy and I ended up doing the X-ray experiment. All very worthy but not very interesting, and Roy's heart was quite plainly not in it.

I did most of the driving for that one, and we got about half-way through. I did find it interesting that the crystaline structure of the sodium chloride being bombarded by X-rays is deflected through a set of fixed angles, and this helps to reveal the nature of the crystaline structure.

Roy's heart not quite in it... but then again, mine wasn't either.

Having collected enough data, I could do the data analysis at home, but frankly I would prefer to see whether I have to write up the X-ray experiment for the TMA first before I bother.
