No, not the Helmholtz coil!

5.47pm. Had a tough afternoon lab, and things were getting complicated but still very interesting. We reached a natural break just before the end of the lab, so tomorrow we'll be ready to start on the fine gas beam stuff. Should be good.

The Helmholtz coils part of the lab work, which we should be starting tomorrow, look interesting, although we joked that knowing our luck, when we plug it all in and switch it on, we'll open a portal into the delta quadrant or into a parallel universe or something!

Tonight I'm heading off campus with Paul, Roy and Kirsten for dinner. None of us can face a Grey dinner (one wants to say Grey by name and grey by nature, but it's not that bad, we just need a change!)

One of tonight's lectures is about writing up the TMA, which in principle we should go to, however we went to one for SXR103 and for SXR208. If we don't know it by now then we're wasting our time coming to residential schools really. More later.
