Breakfast

8.29am. Woke up at 7am, hit snooze several times, just because I could. Got up, showered, dressed, and headed for breakfast with Paul at 8am. Roy, Kirsten and Tim were already there, along with Strange Stuart, Katherine and a couple of others.

We have a later start this morning, as there is an optional Excel workshop at 9am. I did consider going, just to be on the safe side, but I heard that it was actually quite a basic introduction. I think I'm beyond that sort of level, so I will take advantage of the extra time to rest. Today's lab work starts at about 10-ish, and it's the short experiments today.

I must confess I'm not really looking forward to those; none of them really gripped me, but at least I can spend the time re-reading through the aims of those experiments, so that I am prepared.

Missing Alan quite badly this morning, but I am playing some flamenco to remind myself of home, which is helping.
