Tesler boys

3.52pm. After lunch it was back to the lab. Paul was late but not badly, so we made a start.

We took some good readings of varying the current, then the number of turns, then the radius. After that, we were able to produce some good linear graphs. This enabled us to calculate the local magnetic field strength, and this is in Tesla. It's a huge unit, so we weren't surprised to find that it was in the order of some ten thousandths of a Tesla.

It took us quite a while to realise that the units should be Teslas, and we did briefly consider inventing a new unit, called a Sheila. This of course then opens up the possibility of milisheilas, and microsheilas.

I also suggested that a new SI unit should be invented, called the Boner (symbol B). On the grounds that the largest object in sexual congress known to man is clearly the size of his boner, then 1 Boner would be the size of the statistical average boner. This means that people less fortunate have gradations of a Boner ("Ah, poor lad, he only has a 0.8 B"), and John Davenport could be described as having a 1.5 B, perhaps. Silly but it passed the time and made us all laugh!
