Pinch, punch, first of the month...

8.35am. Just had breakfast, and nice giggle with Dunc, Dave Child and Alex, who rarely wasn't wearing his hat (but it was indoors). Turns out that Alex works in a wine shop, and has done for some time. He found that the temptation was sufficiently great that he was buying some of his merchandise to take home most nights, and decided to give up.

Apparently he lets himself have one glass of wine a week. Seems sensible. I said, "I guess you make it a great glass," to which he replied, "generally I'll buy a £20 bottle." I replied, "no I meant that you must make it a great big glass" to which everyone laughed.

After breakfast I found I'd had a missed call from Alan. I rang him back and we had a good natter, and I'm now back in my room. I'll have to leave here shortly and walk down the hill to the physics department, to finish off the electrical oscillations work.
