Alien Insect: I've had to take the decision that I'm just not going to take on SXR207 this year, and I'm not going to take on anything serious over the autumn as I just neeeeeed a break.
Me (with just a hint of sarcasm): I think that's very wise.
Paul (pretending to be supportive): Yeah, best not to take on too much at once
Kirsten: The course is still running next year so that would be more suitable for you :) (more suitable for us, in other words)
Me: I wouldn't fancy Durham with crutches! It's pretty hilly even for an abp. (i.e., worse for someone with as many symptoms and diseases as you claim to have)
Alien Insect: Just to give you a laugh - probably of horror - I'll be in Durham anyway from 17th-23rd for SXR260!! That's a heck of a load more physical than anything that SXR207 can possibly throw at me ;o) But we've more or less decided I'll be back to university in a couple of years, so as I've got next to no chance of an IoP degree through the OU, it makes more sense to concentrate on the geology at the moment. I know there's next year, but kind of hoping to be unable as we're trying for #2 now. I really am at a stage of utter study fatigue at the moment though, so it's just not the right time to take on the intellectual demand of the physics.
Trying for number 2? I thought insects laid hundreds of eggs? I have a photograph of her taken in on our Mallorca week, paddling in the sea without her alien insect crutches, so I'm not so sure about the 'physically demanding' bit.
Me: Definitely a laugh. Watch out for those cliff edges!
Indeed. You might get pushed off. Looks like we'll be without the annoying clack-clack-clack noises in August after all!
